Detoxifying your body should always be done regularly (yeah right!), BUT it will be especially helpful for you after a procedure! You want to flush out toxins in your body after a procedure, massage, etc.

If those two excuses aren’t enough for you, than maybe these are:

You know you need to detox if you are experiencing
*Extreme Fatigue
*Irritated Skin
*Extreme Allergies
*Menstrual problems

Detoxification means cleansing the blood and removing impurities from the liver, where toxins go to be eliminated. Toxins are also eliminated through the kidneys, intestines, lungs, lymphatic system, and the skin.

Now when the system is compromised by injury, sickness, or just bad eating (among many other things), impurities can’t be properly filtered, and therein lies the problem!

Detoxification can be done many ways- through action, cleansing, or eating right, or possibly all three, if you’re feeling up to it!

First, we start by cutting out all the good stuff (or lack thereof), such as coffee, refined sugars, saturated and trans fat, cigarettes, alcohol, etc., which can all act as toxins in your body and slow down your healing process.

In some situations, you may want to put a pause on using chemical household cleaners or personal products- such as certain deodorants, shampoos toothpastes, etc.- and substitute for more natural products.

You may be thinking, “How the heck do I do this?” or maybe “Screw this, it sounds hard”.

And you know what? You’re gosh darn right! Has anything good for you EVER been easy?

But we are about to simplify this and make it easier for you.

So listen up!

Where to Start?

An easy place to start is to choose a detox diet that you find the most appealing.
Among the most popular of these diets:

1.Simple Fruit and Veggie Detox
2.Smoothie Cleanse
3.Juice Cleanse
4.Sugar Detox
5.Hypoallergenic Detox

Now, during AND after your Detoxification, you can continue to cleanse your body daily with these dieting tips and lifestyle practices:

*Eat plenty of fiber- good fibers, such as brown rice and organic fruits and vegetables (that means no potato chips got it?). Some great detoxify foods include Beets, Radishes, Artichokes, Cabbage, Broccoli, and Seaweed.

Does that mean it’s sushi time?!

*Certain herbs can help cleanse and protect the liver, such as Dandelion Root, Burdock, Milk Thistle, or even green tea.

How convenient- Can’t have sushi without green tea, that’s just unnatural!

*Vitamin C is your best friend- this will help the body produce glutathione, which helps the liver drive away toxins.

*Water (obviously?)- try to drink at least two quarts of water daily!

*Sweating (ew, what?)- Sweating helps to get rid of toxins quicker. Try chillen’ in a sauna for a little bit, sitting by your pool on a hot day- P.S. we are not encouraging sunburns- or even try a Hot Yoga Class or other form of physical activity that will cause you to sweat.

This leads us to our next point.

*Exercise! *groans*
This is one of the most important things you can do to detoxify. Yoga is always a great option, going for a walk, jump-roping if that’s your thing, etc. Whatever you prefer!

Then after all that- Rinse, Sushi, Repeat!
